Con Mi MADRE’s, formerly  known as the Junior League of Austin’s Hispanic Mother Daughter Program, vision is to increase the representation of Hispanic girls in higher-education through education and social support services to girls and their mothers.

Con Mi MADRE provides activities for girls and their mothers that are designed to keep the girls on track to graduate support their ability to maintain good grades, and help them plan and apply for college and other post-secondary opportunities, along with providing the mother/daughter team with activities to create a strong relationship. Programming includes educational conferences and campus workshops focusing on peer pressure, self-esteem, study skills, and college readiness; on-site campus meetings; leadership development; individual counseling; mentoring; study skills; college campus visits; parent support groups; volunteer service; and assistance with the college application process; and financial assistance and college scholarships.

Since 1992, over 2,069 mother-daughter teams have participated, with 73% of 592 graduating seniors going on to a two or four-year college. About 60% of girls are the first in their family to attend college, and two thirds come from low-income families.
