Volunteers are an important part of our program. Each year we rely in hundreds community volunteers for support. We are always looking for people who want to make an impact in the lives of young Hispanic women in Austin.
Senior Advisors
The mentor experience is a fun way for our students to meet and interact with a positive role model. Mentors meet 1 hour per week during the school year with their student(s) and maintain regular correspondence either by email or phone.
Guest Speakers
Are you an expert on financial aid? Is there a particular subject affecting middle and high school girls that you know a lot about? Do you have a touching personal success story to share with us? Are you an outreach professional for a local social service organization? Then we need you! We have regular opportunities to share your knowledge and experience with our mothers and daughters through formal speaking engagements. These include opportunities to speak at mother/daughter conferences, organize special workshops, and speak at campus meetings. Let us know what you have to share!
Conference & Special Event Volunteers
Keeping up with so many families is quite a task, so we are always looking for a few extra helping hands at our many events. This is a great way to get to know many of our families and volunteers!
Intern
Con Mi MADRE offers many different internships throughout the year. Each semester, we bring on a marketing intern, a programming intern, Healthy Living Intern, and a social media intern to provide an opportunity for hands-on non-profit experience. Con Mi MADRE works with the interns to identify two goals for the semester and works with the intern over their internship time on gaining new skills and putting what they have learned in school into practice.
