Con Mi MADRE serves over 700  6th-12th grade girls and their mothers each year. The mission of the organization is to increase the representation of Hispanic girls in post-secondary education through a focus on social support services and education to girls and their mothers.  Con Mi MADRE recently launched it’s Girls Reaching A Dream (G.R.A.D.) program to provide additional support to the girls  once they graduate from high school and start their college career.

Con Mi MADRE provides programming activities both in school and through out of school activities.  Although Con Mi MADRE provides services to any eligible student within the Austin area, Con Mi MADRE provides in school activities at the following schools:

AISD Schools-Ann Richard School for Girls, Bailey Middle School, Bedichek Middle School, Covington Middle School, Fulmore Middle School, O.Henry Middle School, Paredes Middle School, Small Middle School, and  Pearce Middle School

Round Rock- Hernadez Middle School

Charter Schools-KIPP

AISD- Ann Richard School for Girls, Akins High School, Austin High School, Bowie High School, Crockett High School, Language Arts & Science Academy, and Travis High School

Pflugerville ISD- Connally High School

Campus meetings are also hosted at  El Buen Samaritano Episcopal Mission

 

Girls are actively recruited in the 5th grade from over 40 local elementary schools. They are identified through recommendations from their elementary school counselors, teachers and self referrals. Based on space availability, students can join after their 5th grade year.
